How much do Makeup Artist get paid?

I live in california, Im 15 years old, but i wanna plan my future ahead of time.
I Love Makeup, im going to take this class at school that has it
nd im just curious because i want a fun job that i like , that pays very well (:

“It really depends on several factors.

1. Where you are located! This is a huge part because the minimum wage in your area may be low compared to say New York. If a makeup artist is charging $1,000 for a wedding in New York it may be the standard in that area but if you turn around & try to charge $1,000 in your area it may be considered EXTREMELY over priced.

2. If you are planning to work at a cosmetic counter at your local department store or freelancing for yourself. If you are considering working at your local counter there is a set hourly rate with or without commission. If you are freelancing for yourself you are in charge of your rates but make sure they are reasonable!”
